It takes a lot of hard work to live the creative dream. As the Beastie Boys once said: "You've gotta fight for your right to PARTY." Ha. With over 25 years of ad agency experience and a decade and a half as a teacher and founder, I've seen the ups and downs.
I’ve reinvented and then reinvented again. Worked with some of the most talented creative folks imaginable. Worked around the posers. Worked in three states and created huge projects for myself to keep growing. One of my favorite teachers quoted a Bobby D lyric once upon a time in our Basic Design class. "You are either busy being born or busy dying." That sounded about right to me. | AD RECOGNITION Communication Arts Magazine: Exhibit CEBA Award Lürzer’s International Archive National Silver Addy Tulsa Addys: Best of Show Print Tulsa Addys: Best of Show TV Wichita Addys: Best of Show TV Ad Age: Work of the Week HOW Magazine National Telly Awards: Numerous Awards Denver Ad Federation: Judge’s Choice Adweek: Featured Work Denver Ad Federation: Numerous Awards Graphex: Numerous Awards Addys: Numerous Awards | |
| | I've been fortunate to work on some cool brands and have had a lot of fun. It's work. Hard work. Solving strategic, creative problems at a high level requires digging deep. You aren't always sure if that well still has anything down there. It seems like magic when the solution appears. You know it when you have a winner. Ha. The trick is to not stop until you get there. Good is the enemy of great. It's a process. I do my best to teach that process so that young creatives know what they are getting into. Hit the deadline, hit the level! There is nothing quite like being creative. Believe it. This is a portfolio site of sorts. Thanks for checking it out. contact barncabin.com 13unbracketed.com | |
